Getting there The basic options are bus, taxi, rental car or limo (there is a helicopter, but there are restrictions about it running after dark, which can make it impractical in winter months; furthermore, luggage weight limits for the helicopter aren’t compatible with the sort of luggage you’d take for a holiday). The road takes about 2 hours, depending on traffic. Buses Buses are run by Pacific Coach Lines, and run from Vancouver airport (look for the YVR Whistler SkyLynx signs). Taxis These can be hailed from outside the airport, but you are probably better off booking a cab from one of the two Whistler taxi companies: Whistler Resort Cabs (+1 604 938 1515) or Whistler Taxi (+1 604 932 3333). Limousine Best booked in advance: Pearl International Limousine or Star Limousine . For big groups, Limobus offers 15-20 people capacity. Limousines are a very good choice if you like a bit of luxury after a long flight. Car rental You won’t really need a car once you’re in Whistler, so the ideal is two one-way rentals. Avis and Budget have rental offices in Whistler. The Avis office in Whistler does a special deal on two way rentals: ring them on +1 604 932 1236 to make a booking (aviswhistler@telus.net). The Avis office is handily located in the building next door to our condo. If you decide to hire a car, you can follow our tried and tested driving driving directions. The rental office will give you a map.
